We all experience pain. It is normal and has a protective factor – if we have pain we know something is wrong and we need to do something about it. More often than not, the cause is not known. It is suggested that during certain injuries the nerves get damaged and therefore the pain persists even though the initial injury has healed. Just treating the injury is therefore not enough.

Chronic pain can be constant or may ease at times and then have flare-ups. The pain that is experienced differs from person to person and has been described as

  • Aching.
  • Burning.
  • Shooting.
  • Squeezing.
  • Stiffness.
  • Stinging or
  • Throbbing.

There is no ONE treatment that can support chronic pain 100%. It is good to try a combination of things as each therapy has its own benefit and area they focus on.
